Where has Jake been?

I frequently talk about Jake's job...what he does, where he goes, etc. When he was working up and down the East coast, I could tell people what state/city he was near. But, now that he is literally in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico...well, it's a bit more difficult to explain his exact location. His company's "homebase" is in Louisiana, so they have been crew changing from there lately. The past two rotations, Jake and the rest of the crew have been busy conducting a well-test on a rig in the gulf (no, it has nothing to do with BP or the spill). Jake used to take lots of pictures of the barge and the scenery but he has forgotten his camera the last few times. During the crew change this last time, however, he did snag a few shots.

This is a picture of the rig with the barge tied up next to it...I wish there was a person on the rig just to give you the idea of the size of this thing!

This is Jake's barge. He was on the tug for crew change so he was able to take a pic of the entire barge. To give you an idea of size...the orange boxes on the top of the barge in the back are the same size as the metal boxes you see at Wal Mart right before Christmas season or you see them double stacked on a train car.

Here is a picture of the tug. Jake's barge cannot move on it's own, so a tug must push or pull it to it's destination. If you look carefully you can see several people on the bow of the tug...they are ready for crew change!

Now you know where Jake has been...notice in the pictures, there is only water and sky as far as the eye can see!
